CHARLESTON, SC - Police in North Charleston say they pulled over the driver of a car who was illegally changing lanes.  The officer pulled the driver over outside of a gas station on Dorchester Road.

When the officer asked for the driver's information he was handed a legal beginner's permit.

The incident report states the officer recognized the driver, 17-year-old Brandon Ja' Vahn Zellars as a suspect arrested in October on attempted murder charges.

Zellars was arrested earlier after exchanging gunfire with another man inside a North Charleston neighborhood.
The officer asked Zellars to step out of the car but he responded by saying "I ain't getting out of no car." But Zellars did step out of the car once the officer opened the car door.

Officers say at that time Zellars became loud to the point he caught the attention of others as they passed by.

Zellars was arrested and  taken to the Charleston County Jail for Violation of a Beginner's Permit and Disorderly Conduct.
