From our News Partners at WCBD-TV:

The Charleston County Sheriff's office is investigating a dead body found in Mount Pleasant.

About 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to the 2500 block of Rifle Range Road in Mount Pleasant which is between the Christ our King Assembly and the construction zone on Hamlin Road.

Deputies say a man's body was found along the wooded area.

They have not released the identity of the person as detectives and the Charleston County Coroner's office are working to figure that out and determined the circumstances of the death.

Deputies say there is no indication that this death is connected to the body found near the Pitt Street Bridge earlier on Monday.

This is a developing story.
