From our News Partners at WCBD-TV:
The Coast Guard in Charleston launched a search early Tuesday morning after a guard heard screams near the Charleston City Marina.
According to the Coast Guard, they launched a boat shortly after the call came in around 2:45 a.m. to look in the water, and Charleston Police and Fire also sent boats.
A Coast Guard helicopter is also now involved.
It is unclear if anyone is in the water, but they are treating it as though there is, and crews are searching the Ashley River, and Wappoo Creek because of the current.
