From our News Partners at WCBD-TV:

A vessel that sank in Shem Creek near Geechie Seafood in Mount Pleasant, S.C., Thursday morning has been refloated and all fuel has been removed.

The Coast Guard contracted the removal of fuel and hazardous substances that may have been aboard the 45-foot pleasure craft Miss Caroline after the vessel's owner was unable to salvage it.

The Coast Guard contracted Eason Diving and Marine and Moran Towing to conduct recovery and clean up operations. The vessel will remain boomed off with a soft sorbent padding for the short term, in an effort to capture any residual pollution. The Coast Guard released the vessel back to the owner Monday and requested the owner make permanent repairs or have the vessel removed from the water.
