The three men who have been charged in connection to the murder of Marley Lion were involved with a robbery earlier that night.

According to documents, Charleston police responded to a robbery on Rutledge Avenue around 3 a.m. June 16, 2012. A few hours later, then 17-year-old Marley Lion was allegedly shot and killed by Ryan Deleston.

Some time after Lion's murder, two men who were charged in connection to that murder, Bryan Rivers and Julius Brown told police they were the ones who robbed two people on Rutledge Avenue, documents show. Rivers and Brown said they used the same gun in that robbery that was used in Lion's murder.

The men claim George Brown gave the gun to them. On Thursday, Brown was charged with accessory before the fact to armed robbery for not only providing the gun but also driving the suspects to and from the robbery.

The trial day for Deleston, who is accused of pulling the trigger on Lion, is set for the week of October 7, according to the Solicitor's office.
