Crews responding to fire at High Cotton in downtown Charleston

Fire crews were dispatched to a popular Charleston restaurant Friday afternoon.

Officials said the first of those to arrive at 199 East Bay Street found flames. Streets in the area were closed.

Luckily, the fire at High Cotton was minor and quickly extinguished. Streets began to reopen about 30 minutes later.

In 2013 High Cotton was named South Carolina's winner of the Restaurant Neighbor Award for its philanthropic efforts.
