Teen Who Made Alleged Pregnancy Pact With 17 Girls Changed Life Years Later

In 2008, people across the country were shocked by the events developing in a small Massachusetts town. However, no one was more rocked by the news than the town itself: 18 teenage girls attending Gloucester High School were pregnant.

The young women were quickly dubbed “the Gloucester 18” after a documentary explored the possibility of a “pact” the girls had made to get pregnant together, then help one another finish school while raising the babies.

The truth behind the alleged pact was never confirmed, but the teens insisted that it was merely a fabrication of the media. The spike in pregnancies in the high school was merely a coincidence, and some of the girls who were expecting apparently weren’t even friends.

Brianne Mackey was one of the teen girls at the center of the controversy. She was just 16 years old when she found out that she was pregnant.

Now, nine years later, her daughter Carly is in the fourth grade. The little one, who is the spitting image of her mom, may not even know that she was famous before she was born.

Brianne and her boyfriend, Carly’s father, are recently separated. They were married for a while and had a second daughter.

Life may have changed drastically for Brianne after the controversy, but she says that she knows some people will always judge her for the “pact,” which she says was nonexistent.
