Street closures planned for Friday kick-off to 2018 Spoleto Festival USA

Charleston, S.C. — The Charleston Police Department has announced street closures planned to make room for the opening ceremony for 2018 Spoleto Festival USA.

The opening ceremony will begin at Noon on Friday outside Charleston city hall. The ceremony will end around 1:30 p.m.

Police offered the following information regarding street closures:

Meeting Street at Broad Street and Broad Street at Church Street will close at 9:00 a.m. These streets will reopen after the stages and equipment are removed from in front of city hall.

Broad Street at King Street, Meeting Street at Queen Street and Meeting Street at Tradd Street closes at 11:45 a.m. The 11:45 a.m. street closures will reopen when the ceremony ends.

Limited vehicular traffic will be allowed east of the ceremony on Broad Street for business purposes only.

The Parking Enforcement Unit will bag meters on Broad Street in the area of the ceremony.

Handicapped parking will be allowed at the meter spaces on Broad Street near Church Street or public parking garages.
