U.S. Marshals searching for wanted man who may be in Lowcountry

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

The U.S. Marshals Greenville Division says a fugitive known in the Upstate may have left the area and could be in the Lowcountry or the Midlands.

Daniel Earl Webb, 39, is wanted in Virginia on weapons and narcotics charges, according to a release from the U.S. Marshals. Webb has known ties to Greenville, Anderson, Spartanburg and Pickens Counties.

U.S. Marshals spokesperson Amanda Lyons said he may have left one of those areas for the Midlands or Lowcountry after fleeing from law enforcement Tuesday.

Webb is 6' tall and weighs 185 pounds.

U.S. Marshals say Webb is considered armed and dangerous after a tipster said he may be in possession of a black handgun. The tipster claimed Webb made statements that he will not go back to prison and will shoot, the release states.

Anyone found to be harboring or aiding Webb as a fugitive are subject to federal prosecution.

Anyone who spots him should not approach him; instead, they should call 911.

Tips can also be called in to the U.S. Marshals Communication Center at 800-336-0102.
