Pop Smoke Filmed Movie Months Before His Murder

Pop Smoke had his whole life ahead of him.

It was just two weeks ago that the 20-year-old rapper, who was killed on Wednesday morning (February 19), sat down with Power 105.1's Angie Martinez and spoke about his career aspirations.

When asked where he saw himself in the next five years, the Brooklyn native said he saw himself sitting "on the throne," well on his way to his goal of having a net worth of $823 million. "Imma be situated," he shared. "I ain't gon' stop till I got $823 million though... that's when Imma stop.... I'm not trying to just be cool. We gotta make history."

Earlier in the interview, Smoke revealed that he had already started working on expanding his resume and building his empire by getting into acting. "I got a movie coming out. It's called Boogie," he said. "It's with Eddie Huang. It's about to come out sometime."

Smoke added, "They got me playing some basketball player. I got some lines. It's a nice role. I got a nice check too... I'm going to f**k with the acting."

He then shared a story about how he recently met fellow musician-turned-actor Jamie Foxx, saying he "fanned-out" when he sat down with him. "He just gave me some game," he told Angie. "My ni**a Jamie."

As fans know, Smoke, born Bashar Jackson, was shot and killed early Wednesday morning in what authorities have deemed a home invasion robbery.

According to TMZ, two men wearing masks and hoodies broke into the Brooklyn native's Los Angeles rental home around 4:30 a.m. and opened fire — fatally wounding Smoke — before fleeing the scene. The up-and-coming artist was pronounced dead upon arriving at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood.

The incident reportedly took place at a property owned by The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Teddi Mellencamp and Edwin Arroyave. Teddi addressed the tragic incident on Instagram, writing, "Early this am we were informed by a 3rd party leasing and management company overseeing a rental home we own in Los Angeles that a shooting had taken place at the property. Foremost, we would like to extend our prayers and condolences to the family and loved ones affected by this tragic loss of life."
