Giuliana Rancic And Her Family All Test Positive For COVID-19

Giuliana Rancic says she and her family have all tested positive for coronavirus.

The longtime E! host, who was noticeably absent on the virtual red carpet during Sunday’s (September 20) Primetime Emmy Awards, shared the news in a statement ahead of the show.

"Hey, everyone. As I go into my 20th year on the E! red carpet I have to say I do not take missing an award show lightly, but unfortunately, this year is just so different,” Rancic she told viewers on Live From the Red Carpet: The 2020 Emmy Awards.

“As part of E! and NBCUniversal's very strict testing guidelines, especially before an event like this, I did find out that I tested positive for COVID-19,” she continued. “Now as much as I didn't want to hear that, I'm very thankful I heard it before I traveled and possibly could have exposed other people. So for that, I'm thankful.”

In more unfortunate news, the 46-year-old revealed her husband, Bill Rancic, and their son, Duke, also contracted the highly-contagious novel virus, though assured, health-wise, “we’re all doing well and taking care each other.”

She concluded, “I just want to say I'm wishing you all the best, and please protect yourselves and protect those around you. Take good care and I'll see you on the next red carpet.”

Rancic, who overcame a battle with breast cancer from 2011-2012, is the latest of many celebrities to be diagnosed with the potentially-deadly coronavirus. Robert Pattinson, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, J Balvin, and Antonio Banderas are just stars of late to contract the novel disease.

As of Monday morning (September 21), COVID-19 has infected over 6.8 million people in the United States and has resulted in nearly 200,000 deaths.
