Daniel Levy Says He 'Hopes' To Have A 'Schitt's Creek' Reunion One Day

Fresh off their Emmy Awards sweep, the cast of Schitt's Creek appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday (September 22) to talk about their big night. Not only didd they dish on their Emmys celebrations, they also hinted at the possibility of more Schitt's Creek in the future.

In case you missed the Emmys this year, Schitt's Creek won nine awards in total, including Best Comedy Series, Best Actor in a Comedy Series (Eugene Levy), Best Actress in a Comedy Series (Catherine O'Hara), Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Daniel Levy), Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Annie Murphy), Best Directing for a Comedy Series (Andrew Cividino and Daniel Levy), Best Writing for a Comedy Series (Daniel Levy), Best Casting for a Comedy Series, and Best Contemporary Costumes.

After years of being snubbed by the awards ceremony, the cast and crew, as well as the show's devoted fan base, were thrilled with the outcome on Sunday (September 20). For many viewers—particularly those who discovered the show on Netflix during the COVID-19 shutdown—the Emmys sweep was also a little bittersweet as there will be no more new episodes of the beloved sitcom. During the interview with the cast, Kimmel asked whether they'd ever consider reviving the series. "I guess it just depends on how much money people want to spend," Daniel joked. He called co-creating the show with his father Eugene, as well as starring on it for six seasons, the "single greatest experience" of his life and said there was "a kind of elegance about bowing out when people still care about you."

Despite being happy that Schitt's Creek went out on its own terms, Daniel won't rule out the possibility of reuniting with the rest of the cast and crew some time in the future. "If we come back in some capacity, which I hope we do, it has to be deserving of everyone’s time," he explained.

While the final season of Schitt's Creek aired on PopTV already, it won't hit Netflix until October 7th—just enough time to binge the first five seasons...again.
