Charleston-filmed 'The Righteous Gemstones' Airs August 18

Danny McBride, creator and star of the new HBO comedy series The Righteous Gemstones, was recently on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' discussing everything Charleston since his move from L.A. He talked about increasing movie production in Charleston, blind dates where he ended up hunting for pre-historic shark's teeth, and even his boat day with Kanye West.

The Righteous Gemstones is set to air on HBO August 18th at 10:00PM. This series tells the story of a televangelist family with a long-tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work. Cast members for this series include Adam Devine, Cassidy Freeman, and John Goodman. The comedy was filmed in Charleston, and some local landmarks can be noticed in the teaser. Some notable spots are the old Liberty Taproom in Mount Pleasant, the Charleston Executive Airport, the North Charleston Coliseum, and the Citadel Mall.

Be sure to look out for these familiar places (and maybe some local faces) when The Righteous Gemstones airs on August 18th!
