South Carolina Ports to Welcome Cargo Ship the Size of 8 Statues of Liberty


The South Carolina Ports Authority is excited to welcome the largest ship that has ever visited the East Coast on Sunday, September 20. The massive ship will make its last stop into Charleston before heading to Europe. The CMA CGM Brazil is a 15,000-TEU container ship and spans 1,200 feet long. It is the size of eight Statues of Liberty, one Eiffel Tower, two Washington Monuments, four South Carolina State Houses, and nine Peachoids. The ship is set to dock at the Wando Welch Terminal in Mt. Pleasant on Sunday, September 20 and you can track the Brazil here as it sets sails into the Charleston Harbor!
