Jim DeMint Endorses Kathy Landing in South Carolina’s First Congressional District
One of the nation’s leading conservative voices and former South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint announced his formal endorsement of Kathy Landing in South Carolina’s First Congressional District today.
In his endorsement, DeMint highlighted Landing’s conservative acumen and her ability to win the congressional district back for Republicans.
“Kathy Landing is the conservative candidate who can beat Joe Cunningham this fall,” said DeMint. “Kathy is principled, understands and respects the Constitution, and has the education and business experience to make an immediate impact in Congress. Kathy is not afraid to take on the inefficiencies of Washington. Rather, Kathy will always fight for what is right and in the best interest of the Lowcountry, state, and nation. I am grateful to call Kathy Landing a friend and honored to endorse and support her in winning back South Carolina’s First Congressional District.”
Landing expressed admiration and honor in accepting DeMint’s endorsement on 'The Kelly Golden Show' on 94.3 WSC.
“Like my fellow South Carolinians who elected him time and again, I have long admired Senator Jim DeMint’s conservative conscience, his legacy of principled leadership, and his unwavering commitment to do what it is right even when it is not popular in Washington,” said Landing. “Knowing that one of Senator DeMint’s most respected characteristics is his ability to assess situations before making a decision, I am incredibly humbled and honored that he has endorsed my candidacy.”
“There is no denying that Jim DeMint is one of the leading forces in delivering the Republican majority we currently have in the Senate,” continued Landing. “I hope Senator DeMint’s endorsement of my candidacy today will encourage our Lowcountry neighbors to do our part in delivering a Republican majority in the House this year.”
DeMint’s endorsement of Landing also comes less than one week after Right Women PAC, one of the leading President Trump and Freedom Caucus aligned organizations in the country, endorsed Landing.
