Wreaths Across America returns 2021

MEMORY: Here's a moment I'll cherish for life! Overcoming so MANY Covid-19 cancellation odds to be able to place the first wreath on our Pop's newly erected Arlington headstone in 2020.

Wreaths Across America returns to Arlington National Cemetery

During this year's Wreaths Across America event, volunteers at Arlington National Cemetery unloaded 250,000 wreaths off nearly 70 tractor-trailers. The trucks arrived following an annual week-long convoy from Maine to Virginia.

I along with fellow listeners, and bikers laid wreathes with my VFW Post 445 at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island Saturday, December 18th, 2021. Event organizers said they had triple the number of people in attendance - year over year - which warmed my heart.

My American Legion Post 179, was also busy laying out 378 wreaths to honor Veterans at the Live Oaks Memorial Gardens on Ashley River Road in the West Ashley area of Charleston County.

All local efforts were in coordination with wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as more than 2,500 additional locations - like Beaufort National Cemetery.

Special thanks to the Lowcountry Combat Veteran Motorcycle Association CVMA 34-4 for their support in Beaufort this year.

There certainly is no better time to express appreciation for our military veterans who've passed, than during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.
