Battle of Sullivan’s Island was one of the first American victories in the Revolutionary War back on June 28, 1776.
Tuesday, June 28th, 2022 is Carolina Day, which commemorates the Battle of Sullivan's Island and the defeat of the British Royal Navy back in 1776. In honor of the holiday, dozens gather throughout the Lowcountry to commemorate the 246th anniversary of this battle, that on June 28, back in 1776, involved rebel Patriots who scored a crucial victory against the British six days before the Declaration of Independence was signed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!
