Charleston Riverdogs to Become Charleston Boiled Peanuts on July 28th

CHARLESTON, SC - In a special press conference at Joe Riley Stadium today, The Charleston Riverdogs announced they will change their name and rebrand to the Charleston Boiled Peanuts on July 28th in honor of Tony The Peanut Man

After the passing of Tony the Peanut Man last season, the Riverdogs started planning this event to honor his memory. The new Charleston Boiled Peanuts logo shows a boiled peanut with a baseball bat wearing the sweetgrass cap that Tony iconically wore when selling his world famous peanuts at the Joe for over 20 years.

The day will be filled with boiled peanut promotions including a pre-game peanut festival. The team will play in the new Boiled Peanut uniforms.

Apparel is available starting today at the Charleston Riverdogs gift shop.

You can buy tickets to see the Charleston Riverdogs here.
