The 2020 Census is well underway, which means Census workers will soon be deployed to visit the homes of those who have yet to complete the 2020 Census. Since this will be happening more and more frequently in the upcoming weeks, it's important to be able to differentiate Census workers from strangers or imposters.

Census workers will be making home visits between 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM on weekdays and weekends. If no one is home, they will leave information on how you should proceed moving forward. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all Census workers will be wearing masks and following local public health guidelines. If you feel uncomfortable at any point, you can ask the Census worker to provide their official U.S. Department of Commerce identification which features their photograph, the U.S. Department of Commerce watermark, and an expiration date. Census takers may also be carrying Census Bureau bags and other equipment with the Census Bureau logo on it.

For more information on the 2020 Census and how you can authentically identify Census workers, head to www.2020census.gov.
