South Carolina Public Health Director, Dr. Joan Duwve, is leaving her position after just five months with the state's Department of Health and Environmental Control. The Doctor's initial plan was to take over as acting health director for the Ohio Department of Health, however those plans quickly changed once Duwve learned of harassment that was inflicted upon the previous health director. Chief medical officer for South Carolina's COVID-19 response, Dr. Brannon Traxler, will take over as the interim public health director until Duwve's role is replaced.
