Fed Boosts Key Interest Rate

The Federal Reserve is boosting its key interest rate by 1/4 point, to a range between 1.25% and 1.5%. It's the 3rd rate hike this year.  In a briefing yesterday, outgoing Fed Chair Janet Yellen noted ongoing economic growth.  She said the economy should continue expanding at a moderate pace.  Yellen also noted that the jobs market should remain strong in coming years.

President Trump has nominated Fed Governor Jerome Powell to replace Yellen when her term expires early next year.
