South Carolina Officials Keep An Eye On Category 5 "Irma"

South Carolina officials are keeping a close eye on Hurricane Irma as it threatens the U.S. Eastern Seaboard by the weekend.

Officials at the National Weather Service in Columbia said yesterday that several projections show that the storm could directly affect the Carolinas.

The storm was upgraded to a Category-Five system earlier this morning, but as of 11am the winds have increased to 180 miles per hour as it approached the Leeward Islands and Puerto Rico. It's expected to impact Florida's weather by the weekend.
