Charleston, SC (WSCC) - After 2 hours and 50 minutes of deliberation, the verdict is in for the sentencing phase of the Dylann Roof trail.
Dylann Roof is sentenced to death after killing nine African American church-goers at the Emanuel AME Church in downtown Charleston on June 17, 2015
Roof's family and defense team released a statement following the sentencing:
Roof who is representing himself in this phase of the trial had a brief closing argument this morning before the jury started deliberating.
