CPD: No shots fired at Citadel Mall, no injuries

Investigators with the Charleston Police Department responded to an incident at the intersection of Sam Rittenberg Boulevard and Orange Grove Road Thursday evening.

Police department public information officer Charles Francis confirmed the incident was what was originally reported as a possible shooting at Citadel Mall.

"No shots were fired at Citadel Mall this evening," Francis wrote in an email sent at around 8:50 p.m.

Francis said there were no injuries and it's believed the shooting was "domestic related." As of the time of the email, there were no arrests.

ABC News 4 and other news organizations in the area called Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch earlier in the evening after hearing of a shooting in West Ashley. It was by Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch that we were informed there was a report of shots fired at the mall at around 6 p.m.
