MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) — Loud noises on the porch startled a Mount Pleasant family early Sunday morning. They expected to run downstairs and catch a thief in action at the front door. Instead, they found an alligator that had somehow worked its way up 15 feet of steps to the door. VIDEO ABOVE
Susie Polston said she called 911 and SCDNR responded. Unfortunately, the gator had to be put down.
It's believed the gator came to the RiverTowne home from a pond across the street.
