College Park schools placed on lockdown due to homicide investigation

Stratford High School in Goose Creek, College Park Middle School and College Park Elementary School were placed on a lockdown Monday afternoon, and district officials said it was a precautionary measure due to a law enforcement investigation.

Officers with the Goose Creek Police Department later confirmed there was concern a murder suspect may show up at Stratford High school to pick up his daughter from school. The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a murder case after a woman was found shot dead near her vehicle on McLaurin Avenue.
