Preparing for Valentine's Day this Wednesday

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Valentine's Day will be here on Wednesday, and many shopped during the annual "Second Sunday" on King St. to look for great deals.

A shopper, Tatjana Washington said she was able to score some good deals while out Valentines's Day shopping for her friend.

Gearing up on the behind the scenes for Wednesday, were the workers over at Tiger Lily. The owner of the floral shop Manny Gonzales, says that this is one of their busiest times of the year, and that they have around 7,000 flowers to prepare for the big day.

He also said that on Wednesday, he will have thirteen trucks out delivering flowers.

A floral designer at the shop gave pointers on how to keep the flowers for a longer time. She said a good way to do so, is to change out the water every day or every other day.

Gonzales' tips for making Valentine's Day special are to plan ahead for your flowers and gifts, and to make sure you deliver the flowers to your loved one's job. He also mentioned that it is important to take time out to think about the message you will send in their card.
