New resource center in downtown Charleston aims to help homeless

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

City of Charleston officials will cut the ribbon on a new daytime resource center for the homeless on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. 

The center will provide a number of services for the homeless including job readiness training for possible employment, educational programs, financial management, life skills training, healthcare, and mental health services. 

We Are Family will be responsible for the general management of programs while the city is providing the facility. 

The center will be located at 529 Meeting Street.
