SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -
A skin care company has cut ties with a 38-year-old Lowcountry woman who is accused of hitting a teenager at a community pool.
Officials with Rodan + Fields said Stephanie Sebby-Strempel is no longer affiliated with the company.
According to company officials, Sebby-Strempel was an independent consultant for Rodan + Fields.
She was charged with one count of third-degree assault and battery and two counts of assaulting, beating or wounding a police officer while resisting arrest in the June 24 incident.
Sebby-Strempel allegedly told a 15-year-old teen and his friends that they "didn't belong" at the pool and had to leave, according to the incident report.
The victim told police that the teens were respectful and began to leave when Sebby-Strempel began calling the teens "punks" and using "racial slurs", according to the incident report.
The victim then told police that Sebby-Strempel continued to follow the teen toward the pool exit and hit him in the face at least twice, the report stated.
Video of the incident showed her hitting the teen and telling them to "get out."
The teen told police that he was staying at a friend's house, the report stated.
The friend's father told police that they have a family friend who lives in the Reminisce Community and had extended an invitation to the victim and the friend's family to go swimming at the pool, the report stated.
When Dorchester County Sheriff's Office detectives went to serve a warrant for the third-degree assault charge at Sebby-Strempel's address, she allegedly pushed one detective into a wall and bit another on the arm, breaking the skin, according to the incident report.
Sebby-Strempel’s legal representative said they weren’t worried about the assault charge against the minor.
“With regard to that one, we’re not terrible concerned with it but will say there are certainly more than one side of the story on that charge,” said Sebby-Strempel’s legal representative to a judge during a bond court hearing.
