Goose Creek council race heads to runoff

GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) -

A special election in Goose Creek will continue in a runoff election in two weeks.

Voters headed to the polls Tuesday to fill a recently-vacated seat on Goose Creek City Council.

Kimo Esarey and Gayla McSwain received the most votes, but neither received the necessary total to win the seat outright.

A runoff will be held August 14.

The seat was left open when Greg Habib became mayor.
