Emergency Vacate Order Issued for Pelican Pointe Condos on Folly Road

FOLLY BEACH, SC (WSCC) - Residents of Pelican Pointe Villas on Folly Road have been ordered to vacate their condos by the City of Charleston. 

The Emergency Order to Vacate notice explained that the "building stairways located at 1985 Folly Road, Charleston, SC have been determined to be an immediate threat to public safety." The notice goes on to say that the stairs were in "near-collapse failure" by the Spartan Engineering Service, LLC.

The building was built in 2007 and includes 96 condos total. 

The complex is preparing a temporary fix so residents can return to their condos safely while a long term repairs are made.
