DANIEL ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - The 16th Annual Homegrown Weekend officially kicks off Friday night.
Hootie and the Blowfish are reuniting for the two-night concert event at the Volvo Car Stadium.
The performances will be at 7 p.m on Friday and Saturday night. But, if you don’t already have your tickets, you’re out of luck: The concert is sold out.
On Saturday, the Charleston County School District will partner with the band for the 12th annual Hootie’s Homegrown Roundup.
This is an event that gives back to students in Charleston County and helps over 1,000 of them every year. It will be held at the Burke High School this year from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The application process has already closed for those interested in attending.
The event offers students free haircuts, dental exams, eye exams, and school supplies.
