Pig on highway snarls morning traffic on I-26 WB

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The pig which caused traffic issues on I-26 eastbound near Aviation Avenue Thursday morning has arrived at the Charleston Animal Society.

They have named it "Babe," and believe the pig possibly fell off a truck and suffered road rash, according to spokeswoman Kay Hyman.

Police and a white truck were seen wrangling the farm animal and taking it off I-26 around 7:30 a.m.

Charleston County consolidated dispatch says the initial call came in for a "giant pig" in the road.
