Officers credited with saving choking victim at Charleston Riverdogs game

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Two Charleston police officers saved someone's life at the Charleston Riverdogs game on Sunday.

Lt. Matthew Wojslawowicz and Officer Aubrey Richardson were approached by a choking victim during the game.

"Lt. Wojo started with the Heimlich maneuver and after a couple attempts passed him along to me. I passed him back along to the Lieutenant then finally back to me and we were able to dislodge the object," Richardson said.

He added that the person was going limp when the piece of food finally came out, but was "back to full capacity" shortly after receiving the Heimlich maneuver, according to Wojslawowicz.
