LAKE MARION, SC (WSCC) - A 12-foot long alligator was caught on Lake Marion over the weekend.
The beast was 12-feet long and weighed nearly 700-pounds. Brittany Barfield told WIS that her husband and two friends caught the gator at Packs Landing on Lake Marion in the early morning hours of September 22nd.
The American Alligator can grow up to 15 feet long and weigh up to 990lbs. The largest ever recorded was found in Louisiana, measured 19.2 feet.
