CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston has moved one step closer to having a plastic bag ban.
On Tuesday evening, Charleston City Council approved the first reading for a ban on plastic bags at the check-out line.
The bill has to go through two more readings before the law goes into effect.
