Jim Fowler, longtime co-host of "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom," has died at the age of 89.
The zoologist and frequent guest of Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show" passed away Wednesday in his Norwalk, Connecticut home, his family says.
The 6-foot-6 Fowler began "Wild Kingdom" as Marlin Perkins' co-host, appearing in the pilot episode in January 1963. He took over as the main host when Perkins retired in 1985, remaining on the air for another three years. In addition to more than 100 "Tonight Show" appearances, the Emmy winner's career included guest spots on everything from the "Today" show to "Seinfeld."
What was his most memorable "Tonight Show" appearance?
