Hungry? The state of California is looking to add roadkill to the menu.

State lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow residents to apply for a permit to haul away animals killed on the road, and log roadkill information with an app.

Some 20,000 deer are killed each year on California roads. The bill's sponsors say the law will help save lives and prevent accidents.

Several states have roadkill laws on the books including Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.
