Isaias Making Its Closest Approach to the South Carolina Coast

Tropical Storm Isaias will move inland along the eastern South Carolina coast later this evening. The worst conditions along the South Carolina coast will be through mid evening, while conditions will continue to improve along the Georgia coast.
Isaias will bring tropical storm force winds, torrential rainfall, storm surge inundation, rip currents, high surf with significant beach erosion, and possibly a few tornadoes. The greatest risk for hazards will be along the South Carolina coast east of Edisto Beach and across the South Carolina marine area.

  • Coastal Liberty
  • Coastal McIntosh
  • Dorchester
  • Inland Bryan
  • Inland Chatham
  • Inland Liberty
  • Inland McIntosh

A Storm Surge Warning and Tropical Storm Warning are in effect for:

  • Charleston
  • Coastal Colleton

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for:

  • Beaufort
  • Coastal
  • Jasper
  • Inland Berkeley
  • Inland Jasper
  • Tidal Berkeley

Storm Information:

  • About 60 miles south-southeast of Charleston SC
  • Storm Intensity 70 mph
  • Movement North-northeast or 15 degrees at 16 mph
