A Minnesota man is facing several charges after being accused of brutally murdering his pregnant sister. Court documents detail the horrific crime in which Jack Joseph Ball, 23, allegedly killed his 30-year-old sister, Bethany Ann Israel, and then dismembered her body.

Israel's mother called 911 after going to her home and finding a large amount of blood. She told the police that she was supposed to have dinner with her daughter, but when she didn't show up, she went to her house to check on her. As she arrived, she saw her son leaving the house.

When officers arrived, they found a large pool of blood and a "bloody saw, hatchet, and large, bloody knives" scattered throughout the kitchen and another bloody knife in the living room. They also discovered several dismembered body parts.

The officers also found writings belonging to the Ball in which he expressed anger that his sister was pregnant.

Ball was located after a resident saw him on their doorbell camera leaving a body part on their doorstep. Officers responded to the house and found Ball in the backyard, covered in blood with a self-inflicted knife wound to his throat.

He was rushed to the hospital, where he remains hospitalized. He appeared in court via videolink and was charged with second-degree murder with intent and second-degree murder of an unborn child.

"The allegations in this case are deeply disturbing and horrific — words can't describe what our law enforcement partners encountered during the investigation," Dakota County Attorney Kathy Keena said in a statement. "My office will work hard to ensure the victims receive justice and will provide the necessary support for the victims' family."
