Amongst all of the corona craziness, American Red Cross finds themselves facing a huge shortage of blood due to an unprecedented number of cancellations. With that being said, they are looking for healthy individuals that are willing to donate blood to help patients that are counting on lifesaving blood. To this date there have been 2,700 Red Cross blood drive cancellations and that number is only growing.
“We understand why people may be hesitant to come out for a blood drive but want to reassure the public that blood donation is a safe process, and that we have put additional precautions in place at our blood drives to protect the health of safety of our donors and staff,” said McGovern.
While blood drives and centers are already extremely safe and clean, they have implemented even more procedures to assure the safety of all donors.
