CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office says one of its deputies and the driver of a second vehicle died from injuries they suffered in a crash Monday morning.

Deputy Jeremy Ladue was the deputy involved in the crash, Capt. Roger Antonio said. Ladue served with the agency since February 2019.

“He patrolled the West Ashley district, where coworkers admired him for his dependability and enthusiasm,” Antonio said. “Our condolences go out to his family members and friends.”

The crash happened at approximately 1:40 a.m. when Ladue’s patrol vehicle collided with another vehicle in the 2400 block of Savannah Highway.

The coroner’s office has not yet released the identity of the other driver killed in the crash.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
