Police dive team recovers body in Cainhoy area

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department’s dive team recovered a male’s body late Tuesday night in the Cainhoy area.

Emergency crews responded to Royal Assembly Drive near Clements Ferry Road for a report of a drowning off a dock.

Police said earlier they were searching for an 18-year-old male. Dispatch received the initial call about the incident at 8:40 p.m.

The coroner is expected to provide the identity of the deceased.
