COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Highway Patrol officials say a driver is dead after a truck struck a tree near Walterboro Wednesday night.
It happened at 7:45 p.m. on Sniders Highway about two miles south of Walterboro.
According to SCHP officials, a 2007 Nissan Frontier was traveling north when the truck ran off the side of the road and struck a tree.
Authorities say the driver was the only occupant in the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt.
