Governor McMaster delivered a commencement speech to the 2020 graduating class of West Florence High School on Monday, June 1, 2020. After the speech, the South Carolina governor surprised the crowd with a live, one-man show, stating "I know you've never seen this before". McMaster then performed for the graduates, singing and playing the guitar to one of Paul McCartney's songs, "Mull of Kintyre".
The governor advised the West Florence High School seniors to "never underestimate themselves and to keep their South Carolina pride beyond high school".
