While many events have been cancelled or re-scheduled this year due to the coronavirus, Mt. Pleasant's annual Christmas Lights Parade is not one of them. The annual Christmas parade that attracts locals and rides down Coleman Blvd. every December is scheduled to take place on Sunday, December 13th from 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM. Decided by a 7 - 2 vote in favor of hosting the parade, opposers Mayor Will Haynie and Councilman Howard Champan were hoping to take the parade on an alternative route through neighborhoods. The event will still need to be approved by the State Department of Commerce.
