MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) - Dominion Energy has reported a power outage in Mount Pleasant impacting more than 700 people.

Crews are on the scene near Slate Lane and Wando Park Boulevard to repair power lines. Dominion Energy had said they estimated to have power restored by 6 a.m. but they have extended that to 8:30 a.m.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department says they responded to a crash on Wando Park Boulevard where a driver struck a pole which caused power to go out in the area.

Officers say they responded to the crash at 1:53 a.m. Monday and Dominion Energy is on scene and working to restore the power.

Police say traffic is light and being alternated from one lane. Additionally, they say the driver was treated at the hospital and released.

Dominion Energy says a car accident is responsible for these downed lines.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
