CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Our weather will continue as typical for this time in August. Our rain chance will increase a bit into the weekend as a front approaches the area, especially into Sunday. Tropical Storm Fred could bring an increase of rainfall into the middle of next week.

SATURDAY: Partly Cloudy. Isolated PM Storms. High 90.

SUNDAY: Mostly Cloudy with a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms. High 88.

MONDAY: Mostly Cloudy with a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms, High 83.

TROPICS: Fred has weakened a bit over the Island of Hispaniola but expected to strengthen again once back over the warm waters of the Florida Straits just north of Cuba. As of now, the NHC keeps the storm moving into the Gulf of Mexico. Moisture from this system could move into the Southeast early next week, but still too early to forecast any definable impacts. We’ll keep you updated!
