As far as the 62nd Annual Grammys go, let me start with a YUUUGE shout out to the Lowcountry's very own Ranky Tanky for bringing home a Grammy in the Best Regional Roots Music Album category. C-O-N-G-R-A-T-S!!!! I'm proud to be a College of Charleston alumna myself, as I know most of the band is as well.
Singer-songwriter, Joy Villa, voiced her opinion once again through her Grammys wardrobe, this year wearing another Pro-Trump gown. Pretty self explanatory, but one of the only things I find worth mentioning from last night's 2020 Grammys.
Villa is notorious for wearing outrageous gowns such as this one. Last year at the 2019, 61st annual Grammys, she wore a gown that read "Build the Wall", in addition to other gowns throughout the years which have read "Choose Life", "Build the Wall", and "F*uck Planned Parenthood".
When asked by a reporter what she believes Trump's policies are doing for people of color, Villa said, "I’m black and Latina, I’ve benefited. My cousins now have jobs. There’s more jobs than ever before."
