Who 'owns' contents of Calhoun Cornerstone?

Antique Illustration of Fort Hill, Clemson South Carolina - Homestead of South Carolina's statesman John C. Calhoun

John C. Calhoun's infamous 'cornerstone' has been unearthed in Marion Square. And, in a hunt for interviews, I came across Andy Calhoun - a distant cousin to JCC by way of his youngest brother Micajah's lineage. Andy wondered if among the contents, there indeed is found a lock of Calhoun's hair, could family members retrieve the remains for DNA testing, to solidify that a true bloodline exists. Take a listen:

Side note, it turns out, Andy and I are related! I had no idea until a cousin on my mother's side, maiden name Cantey, sent me this message:

'...the line I have is Alexander Colquhoun, William Cohoon (immigrant sent to the US by the English), https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/26080818/william-cahoon, his son Samuel Cohoon, his son John Cohoon, his son Micajah Calhoun, his son Micajah Calhoun, jr, his daughter, Rebecca Rachel Calhoun. Rebecca Rachel Calhoun was the daughter of Micajah Calhoun, Jr/Sarah Yonge. Rebecca was married to Edmond Dell (I've never been able to find anything on him). Rebecca's daughter, Delia Elizabeth Dell married Thomas Cantey. They are our 3rd great grandparents.'

A special thank you to my cousin Jill for always working so hard to help keep history alive, else we're 'doomed to repeat it.'
